Matthew McConaughey makes a surprise (and his first-ever) appearance at Comic-Con 2014 to promote Interstellar

Hi, I am trying to write a novel and I am finding it is going well apart from the chapter where the main character is being exposed to a new kind of world and being told they are something other than human. How would I go about revealing this and the details of the race and world to the character and the reader? At the moment I just have a paragraph full of details from another character which seems super dull. For example, is it better to show/tell details at a slow rate or all at once?

Don’t put everything all at once. This leads to an info dump. Here is a post on how to reveal your world.

What if it bites me and it dies?

that means you’re poisonous. jesus christ, nate, learn to read.

What if it bites itself and I die?

It’s voodoo.

What if it bites me and someone else dies?

That’s correlation, not causation.

what if we bite each other and neither of us die

that’s kinky

oh my god
